Email To "Frog Hospital": Democracy Cannot Survive Such Easily-Induced Knee Jerking

Inline image 1

Dear Fred,

Democracy cannot survive such easily-induced knee jerking as this morning's postulate in Elaine K's "Thought For The Day."

Of course, it remains to be seen if "Democratic waves" in 2018 and 2020 can undo the damage.

At the moment, however, it seems that The Despicable One and his Basket of (White) Deplorables are hellbent on  making the United States a Banana Republic while surrendering global hegemony to China, which becomes the world's largest economy in 14 years.

This surrender is not necessary.

But neither is pedal-to-the-medal Bad Religion nor the willing (eager?) surrender of the nation (and the world) to Global Warming's fire, flood and drought.

The idiots will point to the contradiction of global warming as "alleged" cause of both flood AND drought as proof that "global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive." https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/265895292191248385?lang=en

To Compete With China, The United States Should Promote A "Hemispheric Federation"

The good news is that defunct empires typically become remarkably liveable nations --- Italy, England, Spain, Holland.

Alan: More state-sponsored terrorism is perped by The United States and our allies Israel and Saudi Arabia than all terrorism sponsored by al Qaeda and ISIS.
