The next president chooses two - maybe three - Supreme Court justices

Dear T,

I just made my fourth donation to Obama's 2012 campaign.

Lest we forget...

The next president will almost certainly make two Supreme Court appointments.

Maybe three.

Ginsburg is a "shoe in" to retire.

Breyer and Kennedy -- another "liberal" and "the swing vote" -- are both "getting on." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Justices_of_the_Supreme_Court_of_the_United_States

Breyer will be 78 when the next presidential terms end and Kennedy 81.

Scalia is getting up there too, but being pickled in his own vitriol, don't bet against a long, gripey life. Nor does it hurt to have Satan standing by to perform CPR. (Oh, c'mon folks! It's just a joke... I hope.)

Slice it or dice it, the new appointees will tilt the balance.

And "The Next Court" will last a very long time. (It will "feel" like a geological epoch.)

Imagine...

Citizens United as "just the beginning."

You may be asking...

What does fashionista Alan see as the next big thing?

I see...

           ... brown shirts...

                                      ... lots of brown shirts...

... embroidered with the word "No!"

Give early. Give often.

Love

Alan
